What the notice says, and where
- CEN 06/2026 (Graduate) gives the same photo and signature rules: https://rrb.indianrailways.gov.in/-/image/1791375679144CEN_06_2026_NTPC_G.pdf/examsDocuments. In it para 14.4 is on PDF pages 22 and 23, para 14.5.1 on PDF page 23 and the dates on PDF page 4.
- The dates above are those of CEN 07/2026 (UG): apply 15.10.2026 to 13.11.2026 (23:59), last date for the fee 15.11.2026, correction window 16.11.2026 to 25.11.2026. CEN 06/2026 (Graduate): apply 08.10.2026 to 06.11.2026 (23:59), last date for the fee 08.11.2026, correction window 09.11.2026 to 18.11.2026.
- The photo is not uploaded: the application form captures it live (para 14.4). The only file you upload is the signature (para 14.5.1), and, only for a free train travel pass, the SC/ST certificate as a PDF.
- The notice gives the signature size as 30 to 49 KB, at least 140 × 60 pixels, 100 DPI or more, in a 35 mm × 20 mm box. The 35 × 20 mm crop in the tool is that box; the tool never goes below 140 × 60 pixels.
- Candidates with a benchmark disability who cannot sign may upload a fingerprint image instead (PDF page 24).
Questions
What is the RRB NTPC signature size in KB?
Para 14.5.1 of CEN 07/2026 (UG, PDF page 24) says the scanned signature is a JPG/JPEG file between 30 KB and 49 KB, at least 140 × 60 pixels, scanned at 100 DPI or more, for a scan box of 35 mm × 20 mm. CEN 06/2026 (Graduate, PDF page 23) says the same. Source: https://rrb.indianrailways.gov.in/-/image/1791999622770Final_CEN_07-2026_14.10.2026_English.pdf/examsDocuments, checked 4 Nov 2026. If the notice changes, the notice is right.
Is the RRB NTPC photo uploaded?
No. Para 14.4 (UG PDF page 23, Graduate PDF pages 22 and 23) says the application form captures a live photo with the web cam or the front camera, on a pure plain white background, without cap, mask or glasses and with the eyes open. Candidates are not required to upload a photo. The live photo is matched with the photo ID.
Should the RRB NTPC signature be in cursive or capital letters?
Para 14.5.1 asks for running handwriting (cursive, joined letters) with a black ink pen on white paper, and says NOT in BLOCK, CAPITAL or disjointed letters. A signature in BLOCK or CAPITAL letters is a ground for rejection.
Are the rules of CEN 06/2026 (Graduate) and CEN 07/2026 (UG) the same?
For the live photo and the signature, yes: the same specifications are in para 14.4 and para 14.5.1 of both notices (Graduate PDF pages 22 to 23, UG PDF pages 23 to 24). The dates are different, see the dates on this page and the notes.
