What the notice says, and where
- The bulletin gives file formats and KB limits only. It gives no size in pixels or centimetres for the photograph or the signature. The 3.5 × 4.5 cm crop in the tool is our suggestion (the usual passport size), not an official size.
- The bulletin asks for a live photograph in the form as well as the scanned photograph (printed page 8).
Questions
What is the JEE Main photo size in KB?
The JEE (Main) 2027 Information Bulletin (printed page 8) says the photograph is a JPG or JPEG file between 10 KB and 200 KB. The signature is a JPG or JPEG file between 10 KB and 100 KB.
What size in pixels or cm must the JEE Main photo be?
The bulletin gives none. It only gives the format and the KB limit. The tool crops to 3.5 × 4.5 cm as a suggestion, and you can change the crop before you download.
Do I still need a live photo for JEE Main?
Yes. The bulletin says you also take a live photograph while you fill in the form, with your webcam or a phone through the QR code. This page makes the scanned photograph and the signature.
Is my photo uploaded to this site?
No. The file is made in your browser and never leaves your device.
What if the JEE Main bulletin changes?
If the notice changes, the notice is right. Open the bulletin linked on this page and check it before you apply.
